Description:

APOHEALTH Glucose & Electrolytes treats and prevents dehydration due to diarrhoea & traveller’s gastroenteritis in children and adults.

Usage Directions:

1) Empty one sachet into 200 mL of fresh drinking water (plastic measure provided) and stir to dissolve.

2) For infants or where fresh drinking water is not available, use freshly boiled and cooled water.

3) Do not boil the solution once it is made up. 

4) Do not add sugar, soft drinks, sweeteners or other fluids.

5) Reconstituted solution may be stored in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

6) Otherwise, unused solution should be discarded within 1 hour.

7) Take as required whilst diarrhoea is present.

Age of patient

Under 6 months: ½ to 1 sachet every 4-6 hours

6-24 months: 1 sachet every 3-4 hours

2-5 years: 1-2 sachets every 3-4 hours

5-8 years: 2 sachets every 3-4 hours

8-10 years: 1 sachet every 1-2 hours

10-12 years: 1-2 sachets every hour (up to 6-12 sachets in 24 hours)

Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 sachets after every  loose bowel motion (up to  8-12 sachets in 24 hours).

Storage:

Store below 25°C 

Warnings:

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Incorrect use could be harmful. If symptoms persist please consult your healthcare professional. Keep out of reach of children.

Contains potassium chloride, 3.6g in 12 sachets (maximum daily dose) if you have kidney disease or are taking heart or blood pressure medicines please consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. Contains glucose 42.72g and sodium 12.24g in 12 sachets (maximum daily dose). Contains sodium saccharin.

Do not boil once the solution is made up. Do not add sugars, soft drinks sweeteners or other fluids. If the diarrhoea persists or becomes worse or if the child has decreased urinary output please contact your doctor.

Seek medical advice if diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3, 24 hours in children between the ages of 3 to 6 and 48 hours for adults and children over the age of 6.
