Mepilex Border Flex is an absorbent self-adherent foam dressing with 360o stretch Flex Technology.
Mepilex Border Flex is an all-in-one wound dressing with improved conformability and stay-on-ability. It manages exudate containing bacteria, trapping it in a more effective way.
Mepilex Border Flex is designed for a wide range of exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (e.g., skin tears) and surgical wounds. Plus, it can be used on dry and or necrotic wounds in combination with gels.
Mepilex Border Flex is a self-adherent, absorbent dressing that maintains a moist wound environment. The waterproof outer layer protects the wound from dirt and bacteria.
Wound dressing with Safetac silicone adhesive. The Safetac layer minimises pain and trauma on dressing change.
Mepilex Flex can be used for:
- Moderate to heavily exuding wounds
- Oval shape for challenging body contours
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Leg and foot ulcers
- Traumatic wounds, such as skin tears
- Pressure injury prevention* and treatment
* When a repositioning/offloading protocol is use
Usage Directions:
Follow instructions on pack or as directed by your healthcare professional.
1. Cleanse the wound in accordance with clinical practice. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
2. Remove the first release film and apply the adherent side to the wound.
3. Remove the remaining release liners and smooth down the border on the skin. Do not stretch.
Storage:
Store below 30°C, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Warnings:
Seek medical advice immediately for all serious wounds or injuries, or if redness or discomfort occurs.
This product is not a substitute for direct medical attention from a healthcare practitioner.
Always read the label & use only as directed. External use only.
Do not use on patients with known hypersensitivity to the materials/components of the product.
Do not use together with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
If you see signs of infection e.g., fever or the wound or surrounding skin becoming red, warm, or swollen, consult a health care professional for appropriate treatment.
The use of dressings as part of a prophylactic therapy does not preclude the need to continue to develop and follow a comprehensive pressure ulcer prevention protocol, i.e., support surfaces, positioning, nutrition, hydration, skin care and mobility.
Do not reuse. If reused performance of the product may deteriorate, cross contamination may occur.
Sterile. Do not use if sterile barrier is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise
